Reminders:
- Monday, January 18th No School in observance of MLK Jr. Day
- Please ensure your student is completing the Seesaw assignments from this week! I will be recording grades today and this weekend. There are several students who are missing assignments. Thanks in advance 😊
Classroom Happenings:
- Math 1.2 -We will continue to practice telling time to the hour and half hour. We will also review interpreting data using different types of graphs.
- Math 2.2 – We will be reviewing money counting money (pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters) and solving word problems with money within 100.
- Phonics – Our phonics pattern this week is long and short o words. See spelling list attached.
- Reading – We will focus on retelling a story using key details (characters, setting, plot). Our read aloud is Amazing Grace. Click here if you would like to listen to the story.
- Grammar – We’ll be learning about prefixes this week.
- Writing -We’ll continue practicing writing opinion pieces. Students are learning to state their opinion, provide 3 (or more) reasons why they feel/believe their opinion, and then restate the opinion in a closing sentence.
- Science – We will begin a unit on magnets and will explore what type of objects attract to magnets.
