I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! It was a little chilly, but we had some nice sunny weather 😊 Here are this week’s reminders and classroom happenings.
Reminders:
- We will be going to the media center on Friday this week. If your child has a book to return, please send it in anytime before Friday so that they can check out a new one!
- The 100th day of school and celebration is Wednesday, February 3rd! More info to come soon.
Classroom Happenings:
- Math 1.2 – We will be learning about measurement using standard and non-standard means.
- Math 2.2 – We will use place value to represent numbers in different ways (standard, expanded, word form) and modeling numbers up to 1000 using place value blocks.
- Phonics – Our spelling pattern this week is vowel teams ee/ea. Please see the spelling list attached.
- Reading – This week we will be reading Jake’s 100th Day of School. We will continue learning about and describing story elements.
- Grammar -We will be learning about suffixes this week.
- Writing- We will continue practicing opinion writing where the students state an opinion, provide 3 reasons to support it, and provide a closing sentence restating their opinion.
- Science – We will continue learning about magnets.
