Happy Friday!
Thank you for everyone’s hard work this week. I am so appreciative!
Please read the letter below from Ms. Cooke regarding phase 3
Dear Dolvin Families –
On Tuesday, Fulton County School Superintendent, Dr. Mike Looney, shared plans for the continued re-opening of FCS schools. Highlights of the plan include the following (based on current trend projections):
· FCS anticipates skipping Phase 2 and moving directly to Phase 3 on September 21, 2020.
· FCS anticipates advancing to Phase 4 on October 5, 2020.
· FCS will offer face-to-face instruction for all students beginning on October 14, 2020.
For our elementary students:
Phase 3 – Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade come one full day/week
Phase 4 – Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade come two full days/week
Phases 1, 3, and 4 are OPTIONAL for students.
I am including this SURVEY in today’s Diary to assist us with our planning for upcoming phases. Please take time to complete one submission per child. The survey is NOT binding but will help Dolvin staff plan most effectively for the coming weeks. The survey will close on Sunday, September 13th at 11:59 pm.
Weekly At Home Schedule
I will now be posting our “Weekly At Home Schedule” in our Class Teams page under the tab:
This way both you and your child can access the daily schedule of assignments and information in Teams. Any other announcements like Scholastic Book Fair, Spirit Days, Pajamas Days will be posted under the Announcements tab:
Small Groups
I have loved getting to meet with students in small groups to practice our first grade reading skills. Just a reminder that we will meet every Monday-Thursday on Microsoft Teams during your child’s designated meeting time. The meetings are being recorded, so if your child is unable to join us, they can watch the recording. If your child can attend, please remind them that the expectations for these meetings are the same as our morning meetings (sitting nicely, microphones off, toys set aside, etc.) Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
Graded Assignments
Next week, we will be grading the following assignments:
Math:
Summative: Groups of Ten (Pumpkins) assignment in Seesaw on Wednesday
ELA:
Formative: Point of View Sort assignment in Seesaw on Thursday
Spelling Words for this week – Short U words
Sub, tub, gum, bug, sun, hug, mug, bun, rug, run
Challenge words: rush, hush, stub, grub
Thank you for everyone’s hard work this week. I am so appreciative!
