I hope you’ve all had a nice week. We had a great time today celebrating our awesome behavior with crazy hair and stuffed animals! They were so excited to show off, and super motivated to continue to earn more rewards!!
Here are some reminders and classroom happenings for the upcoming weeks:
Reminders:
- We will be visiting the media center on Monday. Please have students return any checked out books so that they can check out new ones.
- Tuesday, November 3 – No School for students (Election Day)
Classroom Happenings:
- Math 1.1 – We will begin Unit 3 (Operations and Algebraic Thinking). Next week we will be focusing on answering questions about different types of graphs.
- Math 1.2 – We will begin Unit 6 (Understanding Shapes and Fractions). We will be focusing on answering questions about graphs, and identifying shapes based on defining and non-defining attributes.
- Phonics – Our phonics pattern next week is words with the /ch/, /sh/, and /th/ sounds. We will take a spelling quiz on Friday using the words attached. We will practice them in school, but you may want to practice more at home also 😊
- Reading – Our read aloud next week is the nonfiction book Seed, Sprout, Pumpkin, Pie by Jill Esbaum. We will be learning about text features (title, index, pictures, glossary, etc…) and making connections to help us better understand what we are reading.
- Grammar and Writing – We will be learning about verbs next week and will try incorporating them into some fun Fall writing!
- Social Studies – We will be learning about Lewis, Clark, and Sacagawea and how they made life better for people in our country.
Have a wonderful weekend!
